LATINO INITIATIVE

Immigration is an issue that calls out for imaginative leadership

The Center for International Understanding’s Latino Initiative is unique in the nation. The year-long program provides a fresh approach to changing demographics and is designed for policy leaders and educators whose communities are experiencing dramatic growth in their Latino immigrant populations.

The Latino Initiative was created in 1998 and has been recognized with regional and international awards. The program was designed to build capacity in state and local leaders to respond to the challenges presented by rapidly changing demographics. Participation includes seminars and training in North Carolina and a short-term immersion program in Mexico.
